Our Mission The PMI Karachi Pakistan Chapter will provide a forum to promote the principles of the Project Management Institute through networking with other project managers, sharing project experiences, providing and receiving training and supporting Project Management Professional certification efforts. Provide an effective link between PMI, US a professional body and the PM-researchers, practitioners, professionals, and students in Pakistan. Bring awareness for the advancement in knowledge of PM and make available the opportunity for volunteers to participate in research work, to learn working in virtual team, networking with international professionals. Our Vision The PMI Karachi Pakistan Chapter is recognized as a dynamic organization dedicated to bring awareness for Project Management Professionalism and serving the needs of professionals desirous of PMP-Certification, learning and adapting PM-knowledge, skills, tools and techniques and at large serving the business, industry, government and educational communities in Pakistan through the advancement of Project Management. Primary goal of PMI is to advance the practice, science and profession of project management throughout the world in a conscientious and proactive manner so that organizations everywhere will embrace, value and utilize project management-and then attribute their successes to it.
It was founded in 1969 by working project mangers and has more than 420,000 members and credential holders till Dec 2008.
Global standards are crucial to the project management profession. Standards ensure a basic project management framework is applied consistently worldwide. It has 11 global standards (including Program and Portfolio Management) and more than 2 million copies of “A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge”(PMBOK® Guide) is in Circulation. |
